ACCAP is application-led and built around our in-person events. You apply and save a card, our team reviews your fit, and your card is charged only if you're accepted, at the rates shown on this page. Your membership covers every monthly evening in Houston, and there is no long-term contract. ACCAP is supported by its members, not sponsors.
The first Tuesday of the month, 6:00 to 10:00 PM, in the Sawyer Yards area of Houston's First Ward; the exact address comes with your RSVP. Dress is business casual. Great food and about forty people talking: some talk business, some just become great friends, and a lot of people come simply because they love the people in the room. The only time anyone holds the floor is when the month's featured founder presents their company. We turn away people who come to sell. The people are the point.
We prioritize room quality over quantity. The application is short on purpose: you confirm that you're accredited (see the next question), share your LinkedIn or Instagram and tell us why you'd be a good fit. The decision is ours. We review every application by hand and decide within 48 hours, accept members at our discretion, and decline people who aren't a fit for the room, including anyone who comes to sell to it.
We use the SEC's definition of an accredited investor. You qualify if you earned over $200,000 a year ($300,000 together with a spouse or partner) in each of the last two years, or you have a net worth over $1 million not counting your home, or you hold a Series 7, 65 or 82 license. A family office or other entity with over $5 million in assets qualifies too. Members self-attest; we don't ask for documents.
One of our VIP members, picked by us on merit each month. Every VIP member is in the pool: eligible to be considered, never guaranteed a turn. They tell the room about their company, and afterwards we write an email about them, with them, and send it to every member. Being picked isn't a judgment of their company as an investment: we do a limited check for obvious signs of a scam, for our own choice of who presents, not for your protection, and we don't endorse anyone, in the room or in the email. We take no finder's fee and no fee beyond your membership. Nobody collects money, signatures or subscription documents for an investment at an ACCAP event. If you invest with them, that's between you and them, at your own discretion and risk.
Yes. For Cornerstone and VIP members, every monthly evening in Houston is included. This covers your entry, the food, and the evening's featured founder.
Your family, yes. Members bring their significant other free of charge (the same person each month; it is not a rotating plus-one), and kids 16 and up are welcome for the learning experience. The evening is professional and family-friendly. Anyone else, including the significant other of someone who isn't a member yet, RSVPs for themselves with a free Connections account and our approval; their first event is free.
There are two ways in. To see the room first, RSVP to the next event from the Events page with a free Connections account; your first event is free, and every RSVP needs our approval. To become a member, use any 'Request Access' button: sign in with Connections, tell us about your work and save a card. Your card is charged only if we accept you.
Connections (connections.icu) is the members platform ACCAP runs on, so the RSVP button on our Events page opens events.connections.icu. Everyone RSVPs for themselves with a free Connections account, and the RSVP asks for your LinkedIn, whether you are accredited and who referred you. We review every RSVP by hand. If you join, the same account is how you sign in to accap.co.
Welcome back. Membership was free before ACCAP started charging, and everyone who came to an evening then counts among our members to date. Coming back works like it does for anyone new: RSVP with a free Connections account. If you haven't been to an evening in six months, your next one is free again; to keep coming after that, apply with any 'Request Access' button, the same short application as everyone else. If you had an older ACCAP account, say so in the Concierge chat and the team links it to your new login by hand.
Cancel any time; there is no long-term contract. You cancel from your account page on accap.co, which opens Connections Pay, where your membership is billed. Access continues until the end of your current billing period. If ACCAP ends your membership, future billing stops; if it ends because you broke the Member Agreement, fees you already paid are not refunded, and any other ending follows section 4 of the Terms of Service.
